The Village Cafe and Bistro opened November 26th 2007 in The Canton Village Shopping plaza located off of route 44 in Canton, CT. Since the opening The Village Cafe and Bistro has become a place to frequent for some, and a life staple for many. Chef-Owner Steven M. Starts off his day by serving only fresh and local coffee from Daybreak Coffee Roasters out of Glastonbury, CT. Much like pairing wine with dinner he brings a fresh, new and creative breakfast menu to the table featuring some of the classics with a slight twist. Diners find them selfs indulging in such dishes as Eggs California ( two poached eggs, english muffin, heriloom tomato, goat cheese, sauteed spinach, avocado topped with pesto hollindaise and your choice of signature Village home fries made with sweet potatoes and maple or classic red potato home fries with bacon and garlic. If your in the mood for something sweeter try a triple stack of pancakes or french toast laced with brandy; and best part of all you get your choice of three accoutrements including fresh fruit and glazed walnuts.
Breakfast is served Monday thru Friday till 11am and 2pm on the weekends for those who like to sleep in
If you dont make it in for breakfast feel free to try the lunch menu featuring made from scratch soups, salads, signature pressed sandwiches and entree selections. Our almost famous turkey and brie sandwich with apple chutney is sure to please even the most complex pallets. In the mood for something lighter try our Waldorf Salad with glazed walnuts and warm goat cheese croutons. If your in the mood for a late lunch try any of our dinner entrees available now after 11am. Whats better than a brisk fall day, lobster stuffed grilled filet mignon wrapped in bacon and a nice glass of wine or a cold beer.
Opening for dinner soon ( back by popular demand) Chef-owner Steven M. Day stops at nothing to please his customers. Aside from the dinner entree selections that are available all day, there is a wide array of specials featuring creative, exotic and familar ingredients. To match the quality of food we our proud to annouce we will now be serving beer and wine of the same calibur. The wine list features wines from California, France and other viticultural regions of the world. The beers are local, cold and just good.
To compliment the food our decor is cozy and inviting, our service is friendly and the atmosphere is elegent but casual.
We welcome you to The Village Cafe and Bistro and hope you enjoy.
