Meet the Chef

 

A little bit about the chef: Steven M. Day started his foodservice career when he was 14 at a LaSalle Market and Deli in Collinsville. After working his way up the ranks from washing dishes to leading the kitchen at the age of 16, he then moved on to work at The Chart House Restaurant in Simsbury where he was exposed to the aspects of fine dining. In a short time he was promoted from a pantry cook into a lead kitchen position. While employed with Chart House he received a degree in Culinary Arts and Hotel- Restaurant Management. After receiving a firm educational foundation, he has since worked directly under great local chefs; Executive Chef Matt Tofill- Pettibone’s Tavern Simsbury, CT; Chef Jeffrey C. Gilbert -Simsbury, CT: Executive Chef Bobby Mundell- Simmer Restaurant Canton, CT; Executive Chef Albert Clugston III -The Litchfield Saltwater Grille Litchfield, CT to name a few.  He has a passion for food and meeting new people. the menu he has created should be testament to that.
